Hai sayangsss. Boys, jangan terasa.
Okayy, ini al-Kisahnya..(Shasha nak bukak hikayat mengenai kenangan)
Dengar nyep handsome handsome sekalian. Eheam. Girls, jangan perasan. Hew hew
Kisahnya begini. Masa awal tahun ni, iaitu sha still duduk hostel, dan datang period. tapi pad Librease sha dah nak habis. So, calling-calling lah my mum and dad untuk suruh bawa my darling pad. Petang Ahad tu, biasalah, family-family semua datang nak jumpa anak-anak tercinta diorang. Aku pun borak....borak...borak..borak sama dengan mak ayah dan adik kesayangan aku..
Masa balik bilik tu, ada lah dua kali nak turun sebab barang yang mak ayah bawa agak banyak. Tapi semua barang tu sha letak tepi pintu bilik al-Huda.
Lepas dah jumpa tu, aku pun tatanglah benda ni
Dua paket besar. Duduk dulu rileks kat katil Af'Fiqah. Makan-makan. Dah siap tu, nak letak barang-barang kat locker depan(masa tu pintu belakang je buka, manakala katil kat tengah dan locker kat depan satu, kat belakang satu sebab belum susun) So aku tatanglah pad pink ni ke depan. Kebetulan Jannah ada kat tepi tu, dia duk gelak je. Sha pun buat biasa je.
Pastu dia jerit.
"Akak Sha bawak pad banyak macam stock untuk setahun." Habis semua buadak-budak yang dengar gelak.
Hesyyy anak Engku Halin nihhhh. Ringan je mulut nak balas.
tapi kalau nai didikutkan.. Ni stock untuk dua kali je wehh. Taulah you belum pernah period lagi, so mana tahu banyak mana sekali pakai. Haishhh.
Tu jelah okbye assalamualaikum

Stylish Storage: Marc by Marc Jacobs Make-up Bag

If, like me, you lug your daily essentials around in a freebie make-up bag (Estee Lauder 2 purchases gift gets me every time), you might be interested in Marc by Marc Jacobs' small accessories line. Visit the MBMJ counter in most department store and you'll find iPod/iPad cases, card holders, and also make-up bags! They are reasonable affordable, about £40, and come in a fancy gift box. Whilst it's not something I'd necessarily splash my own hard earned cash on for myself, it is a good one for the birthday list.

Alas, the above is not mine, but rather the present I bought my sister for Christmas. I sneakily photographed before wrapping, but unfortunately in a low light situation. Apologies for the strange colouring of these pictures, the bag is in life a tie dye purple.

What do you think? Nice accessory or unnecessary?

Book Review: Little Bones by Janette Jenkins

This was a borrowed library book from flatmate Kat, a hardback, which is always a treat. The novel tells the story of a crippled girl named Jane; finding herself alone in Victorian London, she finds herself lodging at a boarding house, earning her keep by assisting the landlady's husband, Dr. Swift. It soon becomes clear that the doctor deals in shady business, helping dancers and actresses remove 'obstructions'.

The theme is a winner, I love anything antiquated, and have a particular obsession with Victorian London. I have read many such 'secondary sourced' books and will probably try to write one someday. For me this book did not quite manage to conjure up the city quite so vividly as others I've read, whilst Michael Faber managed to transport the reader directly in to the centre of the smells, sounds and sights of the 1800s, this one proved to have more of an 'TV adaptation' effect, whereby I really felt the fictional sense of location and time.

The subject matter however, is truly interesting. It deals with life and death, permissions and women's rights, which are still very relevant today in a world where there are daily pro-life battles in London and across the world. The medical procedures described are horrific and grotesque, well-researched and fascinating.

I enjoyed the book, and read it very quickly (another with MASSIVE text though), however I never particularly warmed to the character of Jane. She is a cripple, and much is made of this, yet Jenkins does not adequately describe her physique and explain just what exactly her deformity is. Jane has a rather bland narrative voice, and though we are treated to episodes from her past, we never discover her real opinion on the work she carries out with the doctor. She is a young woman, and yet doesn't flinch at the job expected of her, let alone question it, she seems quite happy following instruction. Her nonchalance is maybe realistic of a child in her position (she is after all dependent on the Dr for money) yet is very disappointing, as her expressing view on the situation would have given the book a new dimension.

The ending is frustrating, and I cannot go in to any more detail without revealing the plot. I think that the unfinished style final chapter only works if you have a strong protagonist who can linger after the last page has been turned. For me, Jane was not.

Never the less, I am fussy, and I realise that. Little Bones by Janette Jenkins is an interesting, quick read that you will enjoy picking up until it is finished. Perfect as a bedtime or sun lounger book.

Review: Givenchy Hydra Sparkling Magic Lip & Cheek Balm

I couldn't wait to write about Givenchy Hydra Sparkling Magic Lip & Cheek Balm aka my new favourite product...I had my eye on this multi-tasking balm for awhile, so it was a lovely surprise when the copy girls in work presented me with it for my birthday (I had been going on about it a lot).

Designed to be used on lips and cheekbones, the balm has not left my handbag since. It looks bright orange in the pot, but transforms into a really pretty natural pink when applied. I think it might have some heat activated colour technology, as it seem to have the same effect. I noticed that my lips are much smoother than normal so it beats Carmex at moisturising too.

I am usually as matte as a powder pot, but have also tried using it along the cheekbones to lift and highlight. The result was very flattering, so this is great for girls who like a glossy sporty glow. There is also another colour available, a white metallic pearl which would be even better for this.

The only downside is the price. I am sorry to say that it will set you back £20.50 for this pot of goodness. Yes, over £20 for a lip balm! And the pot is very small too, much more slimline that it looks in the photos. I know I will want to repurchase this, but I don't think I could allow myself to spend so frivolously on something so minute!

Book Review: Wise Children by Angel Carter

I am three books behind on my reviews, so I read this a month or two back. I should firstly explain that I LOVE Angela Carter. I was sent in her direction by an old uni tutor- I had gone to discuss my end of term Creative essay (filled with unicorns and warlocks) and he said my ideas sounded similar to her Bloody Chambers collection; ever since she has been my writing hero.

This cover is not the same as the book I have; the one above is misleadingly chick-lit with the fashion illustration and lilac. This is the story of identical twins Dora and Nora, daughters of Melchoir Hazard, the infamous Shakespearean stage star. Now, on their 75th birthday they look back on their lives as they prepare for Melchoir's 100th birthday party.

I can't outline the plot here, it is full of twists and turns, mistaken identities, illegitimate children, even hints of incest. The story is told from the point of Dora, who waltzes off in chatty prose, adding asides and getting carried away with details. Lyrical and very poetic, Carter's metaphor and simile is refreshingly to the point. She just gets it right in minimal words, no fuss, pomp or romanticism, every observation is razor sharp and very clever. The character list is vast, with relationships so intertwined you may find yourself turning back pages to figure out who is who. This confusion adds the the reading experience, which is like being privy to a modern tale from the Bard. Never have we been more reminded that 'All the world's a stage'.

It is impossible not to fall in love with chortling, catch-phrase laden Dora, who leads us through the twins' 1930s world of polished stages, tap shoes, heady oriental perfumes and dressing room liaisons. She is matter of fact about events that in any other context would sound plain mad, yes this book is laced with Carter's trademark magic realism, I particularly liked addition of film producer Genghis Khan and his tragic mourning first wife who silently shadows him daily.

This book is  not the most gentle introduction to Angela Carter (try The Magic Topshop) but I recommend giving it a go as it's a real reading experience. I will probably pick it up it again in a few months, as I think it's one that will reveal all the more on 2nd more informed read.

Cause I'm Girl

Assalamualaikum dan salam 1 Malaysia. Chewwah. Sejak bila sahut seruan Dato' Najib ni?
Haha. Okbai.
Entry kali ni aku nak cerita sikit mengenai kejadian yang aku kena hadap setiap bulan.
Before that, this entry sesuai untuk girls cause kaum HAWA je yang dapat memahami apa yang aku rasa. HEHE.

Ceritanya begini.....
Semalam iaitu Jumaat, pagi tu aku rasa lain macam je. Rasa nak marah je (dan aku marah adik aku dah punn). Sampai je kat sekolah rasa makin tak selesa. So aku pergi lah toilet bersama my darling Intimate. Okay. Sah datang. Sebab perut ada rasa sakit senggugut dah. tapi tak kuat mana.
Semuanya okay okay okay dan okay. Sampailah about 40 minit kemudian, rasanya, Ya Allah. Tuhan jelah tahu. Tapi aku still boleh tahan. Tapi masuk bengkel for KH period, sumpah nak berjalan pun tak larat. Amira my classmate suruh berjalan-jalan kasi darah turun tapi sumpah nak bangun pun rasa tak larat.
Cikgu tahu aku tengah senggugut, so cikgu bagilah aku berehat. Actually, dalam hati aku rasa nak balik dah tapi disebabkan nanti dah nak cuti seminggu, homework pun tak ambil lagi.)

Tapi tak lama lepas tu, perut rasa macam buat hal lagi. So, aku pergilah tandas. Nak dekat 15 min sha spend dalam toilet tu. Padahal Islam tak berapa galakkan umatnya duduk dalam tandas lama-lama. kan?
Tengok jam dah pukul 10pagi so aku pun laju keluar dari toilet ke bengkel untuk ambil barang and tunggu Shuhada yang student PK. Duduk kat kantin dah nampak Syazwani and Fatin. Tapi Fiqah and ayu takda lagi. So aku terus duduk tepi ayu. Nasi lemak yang aku beli dari Atikah sumpah tak tarik selera aku langsung. Lepas makan dua sudu tu, aku bagi kat Ayu and suruh dia share dengan budak2 semeja. Sebab aku risau makan masa tengah senggugut ni. Selalu sangat muntah sebab makan banyak. Aku pun mengucaplah banyak-banyak.

Shuhada yang baik hati telah tolong aku beli ice lemon tea. Lepas minum tu rasa okay sikit. Tapi lepas masuk kelas yang tingkat 3 tu... Subhanallah. Sakit yang teramat. "Sabar Sha, masa Maths kat best. Lepas masa maths ni, masa BM 2 masa. cikgu Aida takda. rehatlah masa tu."
Disebabkan cikgu Baizura yang baik hati mengetahui bahawa aku senggugut, beliau pun suruh Sha tido. Shalah tidur sampai ada sekali tu terjaga dek ADLINGG ILYANA yang comel tu kejut kan aku. Bangun je rasa basah. So, aku bawaklah my darling Intimate yang spare part ke toilet. Lepas tukar rasa selesa dan segar sikit. Sakit pun dah takda. So, ingat nak suruh ayah ambil tak jadilah. Aku pun cam biasa naik bas balik rumah.

Dalam pukul 3 petang lepas bangun tidur, kepala rasa macam nak meletup. Hati rasa nak marah je. Ni mesti hormon punya fasal. Dalam pukul 6 tu, mak balik. Mak tanya senggugut ke? Aku pun cakaplah Ya. Mak pun terus keluar bilik. Heam...

Tapi, tak lama lepas tu mak bawa minya panas Alfiat dengan sup peha ayam + rempah ratus +lada hitam. (kaw gila rasa) Lepas minum sup tu, perut pun rasa okay..

**
Penyakit ni aku kena sejak bulan 10 form 1 masa senggugut. Ada ke patut masa aku dengan geng2 aku yang nak dekat 10 orang time tu serbu bilik disiplin untuk jumpa cikgu bertugas iaitu cikgu Rosli, and cikgu Rosli suruh aku kahwin bagi hilangkan penaykit tersebut. Hesh!!

Review: shellac nails day 1

Day 1

I'm a bit behind with the times but this week I have acquired both an iPhone and a shellac manicure. Here is my first phone blog post!

Black nails have been a staple since punkier teenage years, but they have transformed from angsty chipped talons to glossy and polished. It is so hard to get black to look and stay chic, so shellac is a good solution. It is supposed to last 14 days, so I shall update my progress.

Here on day 1 they look excellent, as expected

Day 7

UPDATE one week on and my manicure is still perfect! I took this pic without the influence of arty Instagram so you can see that the finish is still chip-free...will it make it to 14 days?

Random#4 Me. Lari. Asrama.

Assalamualaikum warahmatullahiwabarakatuh
Hey ladies and gentleman praise to Allah 'cause we are here.
Okay..
Ni Sha!!
Yes and yes, Sha keluar Asrama Puteri Tengku Afzannn!!!
When?!
20 February
Why?!
I can't get macam mana human boleh 'hidup' dekat hostel tu and, saya tak dapat get through perangan student sana and sungguh saya banyak kali terasa hati dengan student saya. Yest dulu saya kacip dengan 2-3 orang budak form 3 and 2-3 orang budak form 2 and hampir semua budak form1 baik dengan aku =)

Okay stop about that and message me if you really want to know the concrit reason I off-hostel.

Let's continue with the title.
Okay minggu ni banyak tau activy berkenaan sekolah;
Suntikan kancing gigi atau TTA
Okay this is suntikan yang paling sakit I ever kena. Masa aku form 2 dulu seluar kena suntik sebab ambil darah pun takdalah sampai macam ni. Mula-mula tu rasa tak sakit. Lama-lama tu mcam dia masukkan besi. Lepas keluar tu okay sikit.
Kot-kot kena cabut ke, tampal or whatsoever. Mula-mula sampai tu, Audrey dan Tay dah ada situ, Tay engah terima rawatan. Macam-macam alat dia guna. Sha pun cuak lah, so tanyalah Audrey dia cakap tatau. Tapi seriously sha cakap, it looks pain. Then bila sampai turn sha, akak tu tanya nak makan dulu tak pastu Sha cakap boleh juga tapi makcik sebelah dia cakap 'emm, takpayahlah, nak cuci gigi je'. dalam hati dah rasa tenang sikit. Pastu baring dah dia pun cucilah plague aku yang ada kat belakang dua gigi bawah(depan) sha. masa dia buat tu, kejap-kejap ada rasa sakit tau. rasa ngilu, Air liur rasa macam banyak dah tapi dah disedut. It take about 10 minutes for the session. And, Alhamdulillah Sha dah takda plague tapi lepas ni kena jaga gigi baik-baik lahh.
Merentas Desa

Sha tatau kenapa school sha ni buat law pelik-pelik sampaikan merentas desa pun pada jam 3 petang. Tengah panas siot.  Tapi nasib baiklah sha bawa dan pakai sunblock. InsyaAllah tak gelap kulit. If gelap tu muka kut sebab tak pakai apaper perlindungan kat muka =.=

And one more, Ahad ni InsyaAllah sha pergi training Taekwondo and sha nak dapat green belt sehingga hujung tahun ni. InsyaAllah.

Okay ni jelah coretan untuk kali ni.
Semoga anda dilimpahi nikmat kurniaanNya dan dijauhi daripada azab api Neraka dan didekati dengan Syurga, insyaAllah

Assalamualaikum
#Sumpah cakap Alhamdulillah so far sha happy gila duduk sekoala Afzan and tak rasa nak pergi mana-mana sekolah coed. i love convent school!
#Sorry if banyak typing error cause nak cepat dah azan maghrib okbai

Review: SUPER by Dr Perricone Moisturising Activator

When I got an email with the liberating subject title 'Toss the Toner' I was intrigued. I do not get on with toners and have always found them stingy and drying- a thoroughly uncomfortable experience. These 'activators' are designed to in exchange for the toner step, and as you can see there is a rainbow range to choose from, there is even one for dry skin which is good news for me.

Here I have the 'Moisturizing Activator' and yes, I was seduced by the bottle that is charmingly old fashioned with frosted glass containing a bright green fluid. The question is though, does it work? I use a wipe on cream cleanser, which can sometimes leave my skin feeling a little sticky. One sweep of this afterwards made the world of difference. Sweetly scented with almonds, it left my skin feeling refreshed but also moisturised- moisture without reside, a revelation indeed! I use this as step 2 of my evening skincare, but often in the mornings, I use it as a singular step. It removes traces of lingering eyeliner, and leaves skin smooth and prepped for foundation.

I recommend that everyone should toss the toner.

Activators cost £28.50 and are available from Boots

Happy St. David's Day

1 day late, but best wishes to all Welsh!

PS. Love that there is a cupcake for everything these days!
